FAQs about Language Programs

 

1. Do you have a specific program that you use?
No. COUNTERPOINT
s policy is to provide an individually-designed and continually re-assessed program. We provide consultants capable of meeting specific language needs and preferences in teaching styles. We believe this allows us to offer the individually-designed training to which we are committed.

 

2. What kinds of scheduling do you offer?
COUNTERPOINT makes every effort to meet the needs of our clients. We are aware that corporate personnel work under time constraints and frequently travel. With that in mind, we can usually meet clients anytime between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday and during regular business hours on Friday. Weekend classes can also be arranged.

 

3. How long are your contracts?
COUNTERPOINT takes into account budget, language needs, and company contract policies to arrive at an acceptable program length. Most of our programs run for between 30 and 60 hours, but we have arranged courses from 2 to 400 hours in length.

 

4. Where are classes held?
We can meet clients in their offices or homes, or at our office in Bridgewater, NJ.

 

5. How do we get started?
Program start-up is a four-step process:

    1. assessment interview—determining clients needs and goals
    2. contract—signed agreement of terms, including charges and length of program
    3. curriculum development/consultant selection—development of clients individually-designed curriculum and selection of the consultant most suited to the clients needs and goals
    4. program implementation—language classes

 

6. When can I start?
COUNTERPOINT
s turnaround on each of the above is usually very quick. We can generally start about a week after initial contact.

 

7. Who are your students?
The majority of our students are either expatriates or international businesspeople and their families. Most are mid-manager level and up. Our other students are people who like to travel or who like to learn languages and to learn about other cultures for fun.

 

8. What kind of invoicing schedule do you have?
We prefer to invoice monthly for work completed during the calendar month prior to the invoice. If other methods are preferred, however, we are open to discussion.
