FAQs about Settling-In Services
1. What sort of programs does COUNTERPOINT offer?
COUNTERPOINT currently offers three programs, each based on the number
of hours a client chooses. For each program, a consultant is chosen to
prepare a customized packet of materials for the client/family and to
assist the client/family face-to-face.
Basic Program
Up to 10 hours of face-to-face assistance with the consultant in
addition to 3 hours of preparation. The program should be completed
within six weeks from the initial meeting with the client.
Enhanced Program
Up to 20 hours of face-to-face assistance with the consultant in
addition to 4 hours of preparation. The program should be completed
within 3 months from the initial meeting with the client.
Extended Program
Up to 30 hours of face-to-face assistance with the consultant in
addition to 5 hours of preparation. The program should be completed
within 5 months from the initial meeting with the client.
Note: Additional hours may be added if a
client/family feels the need for further assistance from a
COUNTERPOINT consultant.
2. How long does it take to start a program?
A minimum of two weeks before the client ’s
program is to begin, the client must fill out and send (via fax or
e-mail) our "Request for Settling-In Services" form. COUNTERPOINT will
then provide the name and contact information of the chosen consultant
(via fax or e-mail).
3. How long does a program last?
Counterpoint strongly recommends that clients complete their program
as outlined in the answer to Question 1 for the maximum benefit.
